David Smith is a partner with Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC. His primary focus is taxation of closely-held businesses and individuals. He also provides firm services in the estate, gift and foreign tax and business valuation areas. Dave has spoken to various professional organizations on taxation matters and has written several articles for publication in trade magazines. A member of the AICPA and the PICPA, Dave has also served on the PICPA’s taxation committee. Dave received his Bachelor of Science Degree and MBA Degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
James Hune is a partner with Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC and is the firm’s Director of Accounting & Auditing. Jim has attended numerous continuing professional education courses conducted by the PICPA and currently instructs in-house educational seminars of the firm. In addition to Jim’s expertise in accounting and auditing, he provides clients with individual and corporate tax services and personal financial planning securities. He is an accredited personal financial specialist (PFS). Jim is a member of the PICPA and the AICPA. Jim is a 1983 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Wes Creese, former partner, found the Company in November of 1996. He specializes in estate planning and business consulting (primarily mergers and acquisitions and tax/cash flow planning). Wes Creese also participates in numerous community service organizations. He is currently a board member and Vice President of CCSC, a private insurance company. He was involved with the North Hills YMCA Partners in Youth Campaign and an Annual Fund Board Member of Westminster College. Wes Creese’s business accomplishments include being a previous winner of the US Small Business Administration Small Business Accounting Advocate of the Year award for the State of Pennsylvania. He has also received recognition for his efforts on improving small businesses. Wes is a member of the AICPA and PICPA, he is a 1981 graduate of Westminster College with a double major in accounting and mathematics.
Cathleen Christy is a Manager and Director of the Retirement Planning Administration Department for Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC. Cathy, a Certified Public Accountant, primarily specializes in retirement planning. She also has expertise in audits of retirement plans, small business and HUD-related projects. In addition, she performs compilation and review services and prepares individual and corporate tax returns. A 1988 graduate of Westminster College, Cathy continues to improve her education both academically and professionally. She has completed and passed the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program (CEBS) through the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. She also completes a minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education per year. Cathy Christy is a member of the AICPA and the PICPA.
Amanda is a manager with Creese, Smith, Hune and Co. LLC and provides a wide range of financial services to business, nonprofit, and individual clients. These services include tax compliance/planning, with a specialization in multi-state tax preparation for business and individual clients. She also provides business management consulting, including financial statement engagements; audits,reviews and compilations, and QuickBooks assistance. Amanda is a graduate of La Roche College and has over twenty years of public accounting experience. She has been with Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC for the majority of her professional career.
Bill is a Senior Accountant with Creese, Smith & Co. LLC. Since joining the firm in 2011, Bill has provided a wide range of financial services to businesses, nonprofits, and individual clients, including tax compliance and consulting as well as various levels of financial reporting and assurance services including audits, reviews, compilations and personal financial statement preparation. Bill graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
Adrianna is a Staff Accountant at Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC. Adrianna joined our firm as an intern in January 2017 and was hired full time in October of 2018. She is a La Roche College graduate with a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Management with a minor in Finance.
Lauren is a staff accountant with Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC. She recently joined our firm in September of 2020. Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in May of 2020. She is currently pursuing her MBA at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Linda is an Administrative Assistant for Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC. Along with administrative duties, Linda coordinates travel, continuing education classes and company events and activities.
Linda also prepares quarterly payroll tax returns for our clients along with preparation of monthly tax calculations for them as well. In addition, Linda updates and reconciles our client’s bank accounts in QuickBooks throughout the year.
Linda graduated from Bradford Business School of Pittsburgh and has been a dedicated employee of Creese, Smith & Co. since its inception in 1996.
Frances is the administrative assistant and receptionist for Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC. Frances graduated from Robert Morris College, Chicago Illinois in 1985 with an AAS Degree in the Administrative Assistant Program. Frances has been dedicated to her career and brings a wealth of experience to our company. Fran has been with Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC since January 2008.
Bryan Hinds joined our team in November 2017 after spending 20 years as a partner with a local accounting firm in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the North Boroughs Rotary Club where he has served as president and has earned two Paul Harris awards for his service to the club. Bryan is also a past treasurer, vice president and president of the Northern Allegheny County Chamber of Commerce. He offers expertise in accounting and auditing as well as providing clients with individual and small business tax services. He is a member of the AICPA and PICPA and is a 1984 graduate of Westminster College.
